How IB Final Grades are Calculated

The **International Baccalaureate (IB)** uses a 1-7 points system for each of its **six subjects**. These scores are combined with up to 3 points from the **Theory of Knowledge (TOK)** and **Extended Essay (EE)** for a maximum possible **IB Diploma** score of 45.

IB Exam Components:

  • 🔹 **Internal Assessment (IA):** Usually worth 20-30% of total grade.
  • 🔹 **External Papers:** Weighted at 70-80% of the final mark.
  • 🔹 **CAS:** Mandatory requirement, but non-graded.
