Grade Goal Planner
Stop guessing, start planning. Tell us where you are and where you want to be, and we'll calculate exactly what you need on your remaining work to hit your GPA goal.
Your Current Status
This is the weight of all assignments you have already turned in.
Pro Tip: Check your syllabus to find exactly how much of your grade is "Future Work" (like the Final Exam or major projects).
Per-Assignment Breakdown
Goal Intensity
Based on your current progress of **70%**, you have **30%** of your grade left to determine.
How the Goal Planner Works
Input Your Reality
Enter the grade you have now and what percentage of the course is over. This establishes your "earned points" foundation.
Set the North Star
Choose the final percentage you want for the semester. Note that jumping from 70% to 90% in the last 10% of a course is mathematically difficult!
Get Your Marching Orders
Our algorithm calculates the **Points Still Needed** and divides them by the **Weight Remaining** to find your required average.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I need over 100%?
Statistically, hitting your goal is impossible without extra credit or a "curve." If the calculator shows >100%, speak with your professor about bonus work immediately.
How do I find "Percent Done"?
Look at your syllabus. Add up the weights of all assignments, quizzes, and exams you have already submitted. For example: if 3 quizzes (10% each) are done, you are **30% done**.
Success Strategies
Academic Planning
The "Heavy Hitter" Rule
If you have a 30% Final Exam left, that single paper carries more weight than 10 small quizzes. Focus your energy on high-weight items.
Calculate the Cushion
If the planner says you need a 75% but you typically average 85%, you have a "cushion." This reduces academic anxiety during finals week.
Extra Credit Math
If you need a score above 100%, you MUST ask your teacher about extra credit or redo opportunities to bridge the gap.
Strategic Study
Academic success is rarely about raw intelligence; it is about resource allocation. Use this tool to decide which assignments deserve your "All-Nighter" level effort and which ones you can simply "Pass" to maintain your average.
